Anne Burford studied Classical Guitar at the Royal Northern College of Music with Gordon Crosskey and John Williams. Graduating in 1980 she gained an upper division in performing with endorsements in history and harmony. She then completed a postgraduate course in performance, which also included work in master classes.

Anne moved to York from Winchester where, for eleven years, she ran a flourishing private teaching practice and was a visiting tutor to Winchester College, The Pilgrims' School and Lord Wandsworth College.

During this time she acted as a supply teacher for Hampshire County Council, gave and participated in concerts, lectured on the history of the Guitar and adjudicated at Portsmouth and Salisbury music festivals.

Anne's private teaching practice continues to develop in York with pupils ranging from children to adults, from beginners to advanced standard.

Anne is a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
